Also available: AS/SET Literals
to Messages
Do you have AS/SET programs with hard-coded literal
(constant) text strings? Are you planning to make those
programs work in other languages? Then you will need
to convert these programs to use message file message
ID's instead of constants. This tool can do that for
you.
'AS/SET Literals to Messages' will analyze all your
code and automatically convert any literal strings to
use message ID's instead. It will replace literal strings
with field numbers; generate field definitions; create
action diagram code; check for existing messages for
re-use or create messages on-the-fly; and handles DBCS
even-byte requirements. It handles both screen and report
layouts.
It runs in Test mode or Update mode. In Test mode reports
will be produced alerting of any errors or warnings,
but won't update any files. The Update mode does the
actual updates and also produces the reports.
